Maisha’s free public workshop to kick- off next week

Ahead of its international film festival yet to take place on 15th August 2010, Maisha film lab will be conducting free public workshops in screen writing, acting and directing on 3rd and 4th August.

This workshop is for screen writing beginners in other words those that had little or no experience at all in screen writing.

Meanwhile Maisha is also currently holding a film makers’ lab that will take 25 days, started on 21st July 2010 and will be ending on I5th August 2010 but this one is only for those that interested in improving their technical skills in film making and is a residential program.

According to Maisha’s website, about 300 film makers have benefited from the film lab program and over 500 participants have in the past got skills of film making through attending the free public workshops.

In every film lab, Maisha together with the participants makes 4 short documentaries and four short films. Maisha has nine public workshops spread around the year.

Maisha has branches in 3 other East African countries that include Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda and has similar activities carried out in those countries in relation to film.
