Uganda to open embassy in Ramallah, Palestine

Ugandais to open an embassy in Ramallah inPalestine. The development was recently agreed upon byUgandapresident Yoweri Museveni and thePalestinehead of state, Sheikh Mahmood Abas. Abas is a close friend of President Museveni. And in fact Abas visitedUgandain April last year and held closed door talks with Museveni.

LaterUgandastatehouse officials issued a press statement that indicated that the two presidents discussed a number of issues concerning Middle East, Africa, and the trend of politics inLibya,Afghanistan,TunisiaandPalestine. 

Also recentlyUganda’s Regional affairs minister, Asuman Kiyingi andPalestine’s Foreign Affairs minister, Dr. Riyad Maliki met inKampalato discuss modalities forUgandato establish an embassy in Ramallah. In the same meeting,Palestinetoo requested to open an embassy inKampala.
