Museveni calls Odinga, asks him to accept defeat

Uganda’s president Gen. Kaguta Museveni has congratulated Kenya’s presidential frontrunner Uhuru Kenyatta upon maintaining the lead as the vote count in Kenya’s election entered its final.
Few Kenyan constituencies are yet to report results. Kenyatta is leading his main rival in the race, Raila Odinga with over 50% of the total votes counted.

Museveni congratulated him for maintaining a   clear lead over his rival (Prime Minister) Raila Odinga. Museveni, however, through Uganda’s embassy to Kenya, asked all the candidates who failed to triumph through the electoral process to accept defeat in order to avoid bloodshed.

Kenyatta is also the deputy prime minister of Kenya. But he is still facing trial over crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court. It is said that Kenyatta had a big hand in the deadly violence that erupted after the contested 2007 elections in Kenya where over 1,100 people were killed and thousands flew their homes.
