New Al Shabaab threats on Ugandan president Museveni

It what looks like a bid by Al Shabaab terrorists to destabilize East African Community, they have threatened this time to target Ugandan president Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Ugandan security agencies have landed on fatal information from Al Shabaab network that the insurgents want to bomb president Museveni while on his way from State House Entebbe to Nakasero or vice versa.

Why president Museveni? The insurgents accuse Uganda and president Museveni in particular of deploying foreign troops in Somalia, the country where Al Shabaab fighters originate. Other countries which deployed troops in Somalia are Burundi and Kenya. The Al Shabaab fighters ‘assaulted’ Kenya last month and in the process over 55 people lost their lives and hundreds sustained with injuries.

Sources in Uganda’s security network told this writer that this East Africa’s landlocked country (Uganda) has heavily deployed forces along Entebbe road to encounter any threat on the president. And in addition, the ministry of local government in liaison with police has conducted a series of meetings with local leaders in charge of Entebbe road to ensure that there is enough surveillance.
