NRM electoral commission set primary rules

The NRM electoral commission has set tough rules that will be followed by members as the party moves into primaries for those who intend to lift the party flag high at various leadership posts.

The party polls’ commission boss, prof. Tang Odoi together with his vice, Hon. John Kijaji confirm that any one aspiring for any post should have registered in the yellow book, have education qualifications as required by the desired post, pay a set fee for the post the person wishes to contest against with the fee ranging from UGX. 10,000 for LC1 to UGX.10M for presidential flag bearer aspirants with all the fees to be paid in centenary bank apart from the UGX. 10,000.

The commission says this has been done to get those who are very serious with the exercise as well as weeding out any member who intends to turn errant during and after the exercise.

Odoi cautioned that the exercise starting on 12 July to October will be moved on high level morals and rules intended at ushering in new leadership in the party and also strengthen party structures.
