Business experts in social enterprise nurturing in East Africa have challenged the enterprise to support providers to nurture them to their growth so as they are being exemplified as an alternative to tackling poverty. The business specialists gathered at Kampala Serena Hotel for the first regional symposium on scaling social businesses in East Africa noted that the people in the region require a combination of  embedded social mandate with business expertise  and social enterprises so as they are able to create sustainable social impact to their business maturity.
The executive director ICS –creative change ,Ronald Messelink says that enterprise support provision should be about the  needs of the social enterprise,  not the needs of the support  providers. He also asked governments in the region to have laws and regulations which do not scare investors away.
