Following the conclusion of what they termed as unfair youth elections in the national council youth polls in Fortportal, youth under the Uganda youth network are raising concerns over the continued escalation of firearms by fellow youth whom they now fear are putting lives of the citizens at risk. Ahmed Haji from the youth network  who also doubles as the national coordinator for the coalition among other youth also under the youth coalition on electoral democracy in Uganda report that in the Fortportal youth election there was real showing off of guns by youth who were taking part in the polls and now forcing youth to challenge all responsible organs to reign in on this acts.
The youth fear that these youth might misuse these fire arms during the electoral period.
However, the youth continue to bush the elections saying they were taken up by use of money, voter bribery, intimidation, only one party taking charge of the exercise (NRM), only citizens from one region taking up posts and very few females given chance and raising fear that soon females will be no more on the council board.
However, they demand that the electoral commission fully owns the electoral process of national youth council than leaving it to one party.
