Over 100 volunteers have been awarded certificates in para legal studies to be able to bridge the gap between the local community and the courts of law.

Studies conducted by Plan Uganda indicate a big gap between the communities and their knowledge of legal procedures.

The studies further reveal that people do not know their rights to legal services and where to access them.

Babra Babwetera Mutambe, the Coordinator Legal Rights Projects Uganda says that the six weeks training done by the law development center clinic has equipped the volunteers with knowledge on legal matters in the fields of marriage, land, succession, inheritance and human rights issues among others.

Babwetera asked the volunteers to go to the grass root levels and educate the masses more on legal procedures.
