Minister warns saboteurs of Bududa resettlement programme

The minister for Refugees and Disaster preparedness has urged the leaders in Bududa district to offer maximum cooperation with the central government as it resettles the landslide victims.

Receiving a 100 million cheque from Total Uganda as an aid of the people of Bududa this morning, Prof. Tarsis Kabwegyere noted that some leaders are misleading the victims saying resettlement plans is to be halted until after the 2011 elections.

He adds that such elements who are poisoning the people’s minds shall be dealt with accordingly.

The Minister however, emphasizes the government’s commitment to putting in place mitigation measures against such tragedies, calling for more supports from well wishers.
