Uganda introduces new driving curriculum

The government of Uganda has introduced a driving curriculum in formal and all driving schools across the country so as to address problem of accidents.

Over 500 children die each year and thousands of others get injured in road accidents annually as result of the road carnage in Uganda.

The Minister for Works and Transport, Engineer John Nasasira says the most vulnerable groups of children are those living in urban areas.

Nasasira says the National Road Safety Awareness campaign that kicks off next week will lay emphasis on implementation of the existing laws to improve road safety.

Nasasira adds that in Uganda alone over 2000 people die each year in road accidents.
