Buganda Road Court warns MP Otto

Buganda Road Court has warned that the bail earlier granted to Aruu county MP Odonga Otto could be canceled due to his constant failure to appear for trial.

MP Odonga Otto faces charges of threatening violence for having allegedly vowed to beat up a journalist with the Red Pepper, one Stanley Ndaula.

The state claims that the threats were made after the journalist published a story alleging that the MP was having an affair with a fellow legislator.

Buganda road court magistrate John Wekesa has now summoned Otto to appear in Court on 14th April for his trial, threatening to cancel his bail if he fails to show up again.

Meanwhile,Buganda road has set the May 6th of 2010 to begin hearing  the case against 36 ladies of the Inter party corporation who face charges of holding an  unlawful  assembly at the electoral commission offices in February this year.

The 36 women led by Ingrid Turinawe stormed the commission’s officer demanding for the resignation of the Commission’s chairman Eng. Badru Kigundu.
