The High court deputy civil registrar Izaak Muwata has summoned members of the rival faction led by Lulume Bayiga , professor Joseph Mukiibi and others, to defend themselves in a suit filed against them by the party president Norbert Mao.
Norbert Mao together with former Dp president John Sebaana Kizito and three others went to court seeking a declaration that the faction has no authority to constitute or perform duties of the executive committee of the Democratic Party as established by law.
Through their lawyers of Opwonya and company advocates they also want a permanent injunction prohibiting the group led by MP Lulume from holding out as members of the executive committee and National Council of the DP.
High court judge Vincent Zehurikize will hear the suit.
