Microfinance law to be out before budget reading in June

The state Minister for Microfinance, Ruth Nankabirwa has said that the Microfinance regulatory body may be out before budget reading in June this year.  

Nankabirwa says the regulatory body will ensure increased access to loan facilities as well as protection of the borrowers against exploitation by the banks.

She was speaking at the Financial Inclusion Forum in Kampala today.

The Minister adds that the government is focusing on Agriculture to enable farmers improve the quality of their produce by accessing loans.

The function was attended by Justine Bagyenda, the Acting Executive Director of Bank of Uganda.
