Reckless driving lands Kampala businessman two years in jail

A Kampala city businessman, George Sserwadda has been sentenced to serve two years in Luzira prison over reckless driving that caused the death of a person.

Sserwadda deals in Jenn clothes at a store at near Nakasero market in Kampala central division.

Sserwadda who appeared before the Buganda road court chief magistrate, Vincent Mugabo pleaded for mercy in vain.

The magistrate convicted and sentenced him to two years in prison and a fine of 400 thousand shillings.

Sserwadda recently knocked dead Sandra Babadoro, a Canadian woman who was walking along Bukoto road near Kabira country in Kampala.

Sserwada has been convicted on two accounts, reckless driving and failing to report the accident to the police as required by law.
