The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has turned down Kenya’s request to extend the date for the two country’s clash in the second round of the CHAN African Nations Championships game.

The Kenyan Football Federation had sent a request to FUFA that the match be played on 8th May so that the dates do not conflict with the CECAFA Kagame cup that kicks off on 15th May and has both Ugandan and Kenyan sides.

But FUFA ‘s Publicist Rogers Mulindwa says that Uganda has written to the Confederation of African Football turning down the request and insisting that they want to play the game on the scheduled date of 22nd May.

Mulindwa also argues that their request came in late, Namboole stadium has other engagements on that day and that it will have financial implications on FUFA.

Meanwhile, the Uganda Cranes will regroup on May 12th for residential training ahead of the Kenyan Clash in the CHAN qualifiers.
