Museveni urges Karamojong to stop tribal sentiments

 

 

The President of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Museveni has urged the Karimojongs to stop inter-clan conflicts and revenges.

Museveni says in modern societies conflicts between individuals and clans are resolved by the ruling state using the laws available.

He says Karimojong communities have continued to shed blood because the people there work on tribal sentiments.

The President who today made the remarks in Swahili language in Kotido Town Council is on his second day of his tour of Karamoja sub region.

Museveni went to Karamoja to popularise the Government’s programme pf Prosperity for All (PFA). The programme is aimed at eradicating household poverty and ensures food security across the country.

Museveni says that revenge and tribal sentiments is not the right model to get justice in modern era.
The President urged the Karimojongs not to take the law in their hands but report to the authorities whenever they feel offended.
