The Parliament’s Public Accounts committee (PAC) has dropped queries on the State Minister for Regional Cooperation, Isaac Musumba over allegations of influencing the construction of a road leading to his private property.

According to the CHOGM report tabled before Parliament today, Musumba was to be held responsible for abuse of office, and influence peddling when he directed that Enkombe Apartments on Serunkuma road in Mbuya be constructed.

The Auditor General’s special audit report on CHOGM noted that the construction works on Serunkuma road led to the loss of 302 million shillings which was not budgeted for among the CHOGM roads.

However, Musumba denied ownership of the apartments but admitted that he had written to the Works minister, Eng. John Nasasira to consider the road for construction to enable extra delegates to stay at the hotel
