Uganda schools open, children report

All Uganda roads in different parts of the country are busy today as hundreds of students and pupils report to their schools for the second term of academic year 2010.

The police traffic officers have been deployed on all Uganda’s road highways to ensure that drivers taking children to schools follow traffic regulations.

The education calendar requires private and government-aided schools to start operating today.

Hundreds of students, pupils and parents in different parts of the country have been seen in line at commercial Banks paying school fees.

The Minister of Uganda for Education and Sports has urged schools to work hard to complete the second term syllabus.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Xavier Lubanga urges schools to start class lessons immediately. Term two will ends on 13th August 2010.
