NRM attributes election loss in Mukono to internal bickering in NRM

The Deputy Spokesperson of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), Ofwono Opondo has attributed their party defeat in Mukono North parliamentary by-elections yesterday to internal bickering in their organization.

Dp's Betty Nambooze won Mukono seat

He says many NRM leaders in Kampala and other parts of the country are fighting each other. In Mukono for example, the Mayor of Mukono Town Council could not direct other NRM cadres to campaign for the party’s candidate Bakaluba Mukasa due to internal bickering.

Ofwono challenges NRM party executives to find lasting solutions to bickering in the ruling organization.

Nambooze got 16,142 votes.  Bakaluba got 14,302 votes.
