Latigo returns to Parliament after six months

The Leader of the opposition in Parliament,  Professor Ogenga Latigo has returned to Parliament after being out of the house for over six months due to the injuries he sustained during a car accident in October last year.

Prof. Latigo was the only person who survived this accident that left his driver and a female student dead.

Prof. Latigo has told journalists at Parliament today that he is grateful to God that he survived death despite being involved in such fatal accident on Kampala Gulu road.

The Professor says he has been cleared by the hospital to resume work.

Latigo was also recently assigned to be an election observer of the elections in Ethiopia by the African Union.

The Chief Whip of the opposition parties in Uganda Parliament, Kassiano Wadri says he is delighted that Latigo has returned to Parliament because at the moment the opposition in Parliament is facing a number of challenges and he hopes that with Latigo’s return it will be easier to counter such challenges.

Wadri also says he is grateful to all the Members of Parliament on the opposition like Geoffrey Ekanya, the Member of Parliament for Tororo County for helping him carry out of the duties that Professor Latigo had delegated to him while the Professor was away.
