The President General of the Democratic Party Norbert Mao wants parliament to enact a law on compensation of war victims.

Mao also the LC V Chairman of Gulu District says has played a positive role in resettling of victims of the Konyi war from the Internally Displaced People’s camps back to their land and peace rebuilding in northern Uganda but the victims need to be compensated.

Mao hopes that this law will be enacted by the nextUganda parliament because it is now practically impossible for this parliament to enact such a law.

He says if this law is enacted it will streamline the compensation of victims of the war in northern Uganda and with such a law in place compensation will be easier and administered in a more just manner than when there is no law.
