Amakula starts Cinema to promote health and education in Northern Uganda

 

The Amakula Uganda has started a Cinema project in Northern Uganda to help improve education and health in the post Lords Resistance Army (LRA) affected Northern Uganda region.

The project which is funded by the Italian Development Cooperation will use videos to sensitize people on the importance of education and ways how people can improve their health will be held in the Northern Uganda districts of Gulu, Amuru, Pader and Karamoja region during the months of June to July and August to September 2010.

According to a statement seen by Ultimate Media, the project will open on 23rd June 2010 at Makerere University Main Hall at 6:00pm with a presentation of the project activities and partners.

The project will be an opportunity for the people of Northern Uganda to rebuild their lives after over 20 year long LRA insurgency which has claimed lives of tens of thousands, displacing millions and causing general insecurity in Northern Uganda, Southern Sudan, DR Congo and Central African Republic
