Uganda companies urged to showcase at Africa Brand Conference in London, United Kingdom

 Convention to offer opportunity to African companies to showcase their brands globally

 Representatives from leading brands like NOKIA, MTN, Standard Bank Group, Vodacom and Dangote invited.

London, 22 June, 2010. THE AFRICA BRAND CONFERENCE (ABC) is calling upon competitive companies in Uganda to participate in the first Africa brand convention aimed at exposing and enhancing the continent’s most powerful brands to the world.

The ABC will bring together top brands, corporate executives and social marketers, media professionals, educators and non-profit organizations to share best practices, and discuss new branding methods to grow their businesses.

The prestigious marketing platform will be held between the 18-19 August, 2010 at the Savoy Place, in London, United Kingdom according to Mr Akin Naphtal the Conference Director and Chief Executive Officer Instinct Wave Group, UK.

Hundreds of delegates and Speakers from leading global companies like; Nokia, Procter and Gamble (P&G), GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Standard Bank Group, Unilever, NESTEL, Microsoft and PZ Cussions have already have been lined up to participate the convention. Leading African brands like; telecommunication giant MTN, MultiChoice Africa, and Vodacom will also be represented.

The event will focus on African brands and communication executives to enable them learn and share best practice among colleagues and with brand experts in Europe and America, according to Mr. Akin.
Mr Akin says brands like Uganda Telecom, MTN and other local brands that are doing well in Uganda need to learn key strategies from multinational companies at the conference.
“Uganda companies that attend will gain exposure to new marketing strategies that will enhance their performance and brand value. They will network with other brand leaders, while media agencies stand a chance of expanding their businesses by meeting key clients,” Mr. Akin said.
Scheduled to address the ABC are leading brand experts including; Mr Doug de Villiers – Group Chief Executive, Interbrand Sampson Group, Thebe Ikelafang – Group CEO, Brand Leadership Group. Ahmad Yahya – Marketing Director, MEA – CIS, Fonterra Brands William Asiko – President of The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation – TBC, Mr John Battersby, UK Country Manager, Brand South Africa, Dr. Temi Abimbola, PhD, Associate Professor, Marketing & Strategic Management , University of Warwick, Kofi Amoo-Gottfrie – Managing Director, Publicis Ghana – TBC, Nikki Twomey – Director, Group Brand and Specialist Marketing of Standard Bank Group.

The conference is targeting company chief executive officers, brand and marketing executives.
