550 delegates to attend Bidandi’s People's Progressive party meeting

About 550 delegates from across the country will on Thursday attend the delegates’ conference of the Peoples Progressive Party led by the former Minister of Uganda for Local Government, Bidandi Ssali.

The conference is expected to confirm Bidandi as the party’s presidential flag bearer for 2011 general elections.

Bidandi Sali has told Ultimate Media in an interview today that the conference will take place at Kiwatule Recreation Center in Kampala.

According to information available at the Peoples Progressive Party head offices in Kampala, its only Bidandi Sali who has expressed interest to contest for President on the party’s ticket.

Bidandi says his party will also discuss whether it merges with the Inter Party Coalition. The current opposition parties in Inter Party Coalition are Forum for Democratic Change, Uganda Peoples Congress, Conservative Party, Jeema and Social Democratic Party among others.
