Police to first give permission for people to hold political meetings at churches

Whenever opposition parties want to conduct political meetings or seminars at Christ the King Church, the organisers will have to first get police clearance.

Sources at Christ the King Church tell us that this follows last week’s Activists for Change (A4C) foiled press briefing at the church building. The briefing was about the re-launch of A4C activities.

We are told that police have instructed the management of Christ the king Church to abide with the new police directives if the church wants to remain in good books with the police.
In fact the management of Christ the King Church last week was forced reportedly by the police to refund 200, 000 Uganda shillings to A4C. The managers of A4C had booked room 3 at Christ the King Church annex to launch the repeat of walk to work protests.

However, one of the managers of  Christ the King Church, Martin Wambede says that political meetings that need to first get police clearance before they are held at their premises are those of A4C.
