The issue of road carnage is on the high side. The unconscious bus operators and owners and drivers alike are insensitive to the demise of Ugandan passengers on these roads. If roads are poor, it the time when all road users in vehicles would actually drive with care on less speeding. So to blame road accidents on roads is forthcoming and un convincing. To me the greet to make more route turnover is the frequency that causes road accidents. Next the speed to catch up on time like the traillers is all about I don’t care business most on other road users. I remmember buses and heavy trucks must not move beyond a certain time and I don’t when this was but it was there sometime in Uganda. When the police does the right thing to issue guidelines some selfish bus operators would want to strike? I therefore ask? why the strike and why this time when they cannot strike when accidents occur. I dont think we should be myopic with this kinda o thinking. Every jack and jill would want to take passionate Ugandan for a ride by exploiting the silent culture we have hence the exploitation of those who think bus accidents are a game to play on Ugandans lives. For those who plan to go on strike, I must warn them as a rural citizen that they will also miss our passenger money. From my rural village I wont suffer much since even when I would dream of a train to use, is no where to get. I’m comfortable with my powerful footobishi what uses natural power to carry passengers all over without causing such ugly accidents. I pray that police must increase its road surveillance on roads not only during Christmas time but all times through.
