Shock and grief befell on people ofKampalaon Friday morning when a woman jumped from the 14th floor of Workers House building and died.
The woman was identified as Justine Nalugya, a resident ofKampaladistrict. The relatives to the deceased said that Nalugya was so stressed because she had a degree fromMakerereUniversitybut she had not been employed for the last three years. Rose Nambi, a relative to the deceased told the people who had gathered at the scene of suicide that Nalugya walked to Workers House this morning expecting to get a job.
“She told us that a certain friend of hers called Peter had promised to connect her to a job today Friday. She had even mobilized funds from us to bribe the employer for the job. It seems when she reached there she discovered that Peter had conned her and she decided to end her life,” she hopes.
The deceased was dressed in a black skirt and a yellow blouse. She first folded her skirt and threw her bag down before jumping to her death. The police are hunting for a man identified as Peter to help it with its investigations. The problem is that there are 18 men at Workers House with a name Peter. So the police have found it hard to establish which Peter the deceased had gone to see. The police have taken Nalugya’s body to Mulago hospital.
