The Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) delegates currently in Uganda for an IPU conference have held a closed door meeting with the leaders of Uganda Young Democrats. The meeting left the government puzzled because president Museveni could not imagine IPU officials could hold a closed door meeting in Kampala. The venue for the meeting was Serena Hotel Kampala.

The IPU delegates met UYD leaders including Samuel Muyizzi, the Secretary General of UYD, Kenneth Paul Kakande (UYD chairman), John Mary Sebuwufu (UYD envoy) and Brenda Nabukenya (UYD Secretary for welfare).

The meeting according to sources discussed partnership between UYD and the mother parties of the delegates. It also discussed political situation in Uganda.
