About 50% of men in different parts of Africa and the world at large may have a cancer virus called the Human Wart Virus or HPV that causes cervical and other types of cancers.

The presence of cancer viruses in men strengthens the case for vaccinating boys against HPV cancer viruses.

Researchers studied infection rates among more than 1,100 men aged between 18 years to70 years in the US, Brazil and Mexico to get a snapshot of the natural progression of HPV cancer infection in men.

According to research findings it appears women are able to clear their HPV infection but men don’t appear to have this same ability.
