Symptoms of closed angle glaucoma and open angle glaucoma

Symptoms of closed angle glaucoma: This is where the channels are blocked by the Irish and fluid pressure increases quickly and this causes intense pain in the one eye, along with headache.

Closed angle glaucoma symptoms also include nausea and vomiting, swollen eyelid, red, watery eye, vision loss, intense pain in one eye, with vision problems.

The symptoms of open angle glaucoma: This is where the outflow channels are open and become blocked with debris.

It is the most common form and usually occurs over the years. Fluids drain too slowly from the anterior chamber of the eye and pressure builds up. The signs of open angle glaucoma include narrowing peripheral vision, mild headaches, vague visual disturbances, tunnel vision.

Glaucoma affects more than two million Americans and is the second leading cause of blindness in America. Glaucoma can be a very serious disease that needs medical care as soon as possible. It is caused by accumulation of wastes and metabolic slowdown related to aging, high blood pressure, some prescription drugs including corticosteroids, antidepressants and blood pressure medication, certain illness e.g. eye disorder, especially macular degeneration and diabetes, nutritional deficiency, and heredity.
