The American Physiological Society, with support from NIDDK and NIGMS, is offering travel awards for underrepresented minorities (i.e., African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, and Pacific Islanders) who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, to attend APS conferences. The specific intent of this award is to increase participation of pre- and postdoctoral minority students in the physiological sciences. The awards are open to graduate students, postdoctoral students, and advanced undergraduate students. Students who obtained their undergraduate education in Minority Biomedical Research Programs (MBRS) or Minority Access to Research Career (MARC)-eligible institutions, as well as students in the APS Porter Development Program, are encouraged to apply. Minority faculty members at the above institutions may also submit applications. Funds will provide transportation, meals, and lodging. The applicant need not be a member of APS.
Application deadline: November 15 annually
