Nine babies buried live in Uganda

 

Nine babies and over 15 people are feared dead in the Buluckeke mudslide inEastern Uganda. Over 15 houses have been buried, according to police in easternUganda.

The police say that people have lost property measured to be worth billions of shillings. According to a news statement issued by Uganda Red Cross today the heavy landslide occurred inBumwalukaniSubCountyand buried Namaga and Bunakasala villages.

A team of volunteers from Uganda Red Cross is in the area to assess the situation and establish the number of people died or affected in the landslide.

The team of Uganda Red Cross on the ground to support the victims in conducting vulnerability capacity assessment is led by Michael Richard Nataka.
