Recently reelected woman MP for Kasese district, Winnie Kiiza made her victory Dinner in Kira, in Kampalaamidst verbal attacks to president Museveni’s government. It was a colourful occasion! Many people deliberately missed her swearing in ceremony at
parliament but freely joined up with the people of Kasese to celebrate the victory.
Many speakers described MP Winnie as a person with way of attracting a lot of goodness. MP Wafula Oguttu wondered whether MP Kiiza was good on
the inside – really. His statement was not so clear by it caused laughter. The party was attended by opposition party PresidentsCol. Dr. Kiiza Besigye (FDC) and Asuman Basalirwa (JEEMA).
Other officials who attended the party were Hon. Amanya Mushega, and Hon. Nandala Mafabi who summed up Winnie’s election victory for the guests: “We (FDC) went to Kasese to protect an election victory that had already been achieved by Winnie Kiiza.” Nandala was referring to Winnie’s strong, upright and extremely likeable character, which won her support not only from her own party members but from
across the political divide.
As usual Col. Besigye kept his eye open and told Winnie’s guests that they are celebrating small victories, yes, but the real celebration will come when president Museveni is over thrown from statehouse.
