NRM breaks its own constitution, party splits

Things are still not fine on the side of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Usuk County (in Katakwi) parliamentary by elections as the opposition candidates in the race are  performing and combing villages to get support while the government is still busy fighting amongst members on who is the rightful party candidate.
The NRM party leadership is busy fighting between Proscovia Alongot Oromait, the party flag bearer and Charles Olwenyi, the 2011 NRM flag bearer who stood as independent after NRM disregard him this time.
Olwenyi says that the ruling party broke its own constitution which was in favour of him but because of intrigue in the party, president Museveni’s party now has two candidates facing off with opposition candidates. However the race is still between three parties, Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), NRM and the Democratic Party. The voting is on 12th September 2012.
