Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) has launched investigations into claims that Private Ernest Kintu of the Defence Forces Air Wing was killed by Al Shabaab allies in Uganda.
Private Kintu, who was guarding the home of one of the Russian army experts training Uganda soldiers in air force fighting, was killed next to the home he was guarding at Oring Crescent Road in Entebbe.
Preliminary investigation reports indicate that private Kintu was shot at night by men who were dressed in tunic and hard beards. They assassins left his body lying dead with bullet wounds on his chest. The army and police are yet to unearth the intentions of the assassins. Reports also indicate that the assassins attacked private Kintu when he was unprepared because there was no scuffle prior to his shooting.
When police arrived at the scene to investigate the incident, UPDF Air force team carried away the body to do their own postmortem and investigations.
The Airforce Spokesperson, Lt. Moses Amayo says that the army will come out with an official report on this incidence when investigations are complete.
