MPS on defence and internal affairs have expressed concern over the failure by the security agencies to come out with a report of the Kanungu infernal in which Joseph kibwetere killed over 1000 people after he confused them.
MPS expressed concern while  interfacing with a group of people claiming to have lost the relatives.

The group led by Boaz Idiidi petitioned parliament asking for its intervention into the matter and wanting to given the land where the church was built.

Kaplyebong county member of parliament Peter Eriaku  said that it’s unfortunate that after 12 years government has never come out with a report on the incident.

He said that they are going to use the information they have got from the petitioners and make a report  that may be
used by security agencies in investigating the whereabouts of Kibwetere.

Eriaku however said that the information the committee has got so far indicate that Kibwetere was last seen at Ishasha at Uganda –Congo boarder.

It is 12 years since about 1000 people were confused by Joseph Kibwetere of the Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments and  perished in an inferno in Kanungu.

Reports indicate that no one has ever been arrested in connection with the incident that is considered as a mass massacre.

The family members of the victims of Kibwetere incident said that their relatives  entered a church in Kanungu district and after all doors and windows were locked, a fire started from within and No one survived.
