MPs inist on investigation into alleged poisoning of politicians

Members of Parliament are demanding for an independent commission of inquiry into the alleged poisoning of politicians to allay people’s fears.

Kyadondo East MP Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda and Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze say that something should be done about the current threat of poisoning if leaders and Ugandans are to feel safe in this country.

The mps say the death of the Cerinah Nebanda notwithstanding, there has been a lot of anxiety among both the government and the opposition politicians about their safety.

He said that Makindye West MP Hussein Kyanjo’s ailment has been by doctors in Dubai to poisoning and that the death of Nebanda had worsened the situation.

They also say that this is not a threat to only politicians but to the entire hospitality industry as it might scare away potential customers.
