The probe into allegations of torture of Ugandan girls in Iraq is almost complete.
The parliamentary committee on gender labor and social developments has entered the final stages of its investigations into the petition by the Ugandan girls that were reportedly tortured in Iraq.
The chairperson of the committee William Nokrach has told journalists that the committee has met with all the witnesses and now they intend to meet the victims for the second time for final assessment of their statements.
He says the director of the Uganda Veteran’s Board made statements that were contradictory to what the girls said earlier, prompting them to invite them back.
Nokrach says the committee members will then go to Iraq to collect information and later come out with a comprehensive report.
The girls who petitioned parliament were taken to Iraq by the Uganda veteran’s board with promises of good jobs but were reportedly sold into sex slavery.
