Kabaka mourns Kategaya

The King (Kabaka) of Buganda kingdom, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has sent a message of condolence to the government of Uganda, National Resistance Movement organisation (NRM) and the family of Eriya Kategaya following his death at Nairobi Hospital on Sunday.

Kategaya, 70, was Uganda’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs. In his message, the Kabaka said the death of Kategaya, who he describes as his man, was not only a big loss to his family but also a tragedy to Buganda kingdom and Uganda as a whole.

In a condolence message, the Kabaka said that late Kategaya was not confrontational in his approaches and that he (Kategaya) had left a huge vacuum within NRM, Uganda government, his family, Buganda kingdom, Uganda as a country and East Africa and Africa as a whole.

Kabaka Mutebi says that Late Kategaya was a humble man of outstanding ability and he would be remembered for his active role in supporting the development of Uganda.
