Mozambique President Guebuza to give military skills to Ugandan soldiers

Mozambique President Armando Guebuza arrives Tuesday in Uganda to give military skills to Ugandan army, the Uganda Peoples Defence forces (UPDF) currently fighting Al Shabaab Islamic militants in Somalia.

Guebuza of the Democratic Republic of Mozambique jetted into Uganda where he is scheduled to spend four days starting on October 8 – 11, 2013 at the invitation of President Yoweri Museveni. President Guebuza will give a military lecture to senior UPDF officers and and other military commanders in Uganda at the Senior Command and Staff College Kimaka, in Jinja, Eastern Uganda.

Mozambican army is not professional or a well trained force in Africa but President Armando Guebuza is going to lecture to one of the most trained military commanders and soldiers on African land. Ugandan soldiers have fought many successful wars in Libya, Liberia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Zimbabwe, South Sudan, and in Central African Republic among other African countries. Many Ugandan soldiers are also used as guards in Iraq, Dubai, Afghanistan and USA.

Armando will also be the chief guest at Uganda’s 51st Independence Anniversary celebrations that will take place in Rukungiri district in western Uganda.

On his arrival, President Guebuza was treated to Uganda State ceremonies at State House Entebbe in Central Uganda (read Buganda Kingdom) and he will soon hold a bilateral meeting with his host Yoweri Museveni.

The two leaders in whose countries democracy is lacking will thereafter hold a joint press briefing. A state banquet will be held in his honour at Entebbe.
