Museveni cited in president Kabila’s attempted murder

President Museveni of Uganda is suspected to be behind the group of Congolese that tried to assassinate President Kabila Joseph of DR Congo this week. President Kabila survived assassination attempt for the second time in just seven months.
It should be rememeberd that President Laurent-Désiré Kabila the father of Joseph Kabila was murdered in cold blood; President Juvénal Habyarimana of Rwanda, President Melchior Ndadaye of Burundi and John Garang of South Sudan were all murdered reportedly under one man’s master-plan.

Sources in the Democratic Republic of Congo say president Kabila suspects that his counterpart Museveni could have had some prior knowledge of the coup. Museveni was not available for a comment by the time our reporter filed the story.

However some 20 Democratic Republic of Congo citizens went on trial on Tuesday July 21, 2014, in the Pretoria High Court in South Africa, accused of plotting to overthrow and assassinate President Joseph Kabila. The sources in Congo claim that the suspects had connections with Uganda and the ‘Union des nationalistes pour le renouveau,’ UNR, movement.
