Some Members of Parliament have criticized the way Medals are awarded during the celebrations to mark the Heroes Day. Over 300 carefully selected Ugandans will on June 9 receive medals as the country celebrates Heroes day.

Speaking to Radio Simba Kyadondo East MP Ibrahaim Ssemeujju Nganda says it’s only the NRM members who are recognized and it has become tedious, he adds that at least medals should be awarded once and be remembered every year.

Butambala District Woman MP Mariam Nalubega says the warding of Heroes days’ medals have lost meaning as everybody is given a medal even those who are not worth to receive medals.

Kabale district Woman MP Ronah Ritah Ninsiima says this Heroes day is worth celebrating as most people are remembered and it’s the only day when people who sacrificed their lives are appreciated. Heroes’ day celebration will take place at Katwe Primary School grounds, Dwanilo Sub County in Kiboga district—under the theme—Building Blocks for a better Uganda.
