Parliament pays tribute to the minister of Internal Affairs late General Aronda Nyakairima’s military professionalism and being loyal to serving Ugandans. This  as most Members of Parliament Shan away from paying tribute to the fallen General and minister of internal Affairs as they concentrated to campaigns in their constituencies  in preparation for party primaries.
The Speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga commended the late Aronda for his performance in attending to parliamentary work. The Prime Minister Dr.Ruhakana Rugunda recognized Aronda for working hard to fight the LRA rebels out of northern Uganda and professionalization of UPDF. Rugunda also remembered late Aronda’s contribution towards the national ID project where by most of Ugandans currently  are owning national identification cards which is now a travel document in most of the East African countries.
 
On the postmortem report, the Prime minister said that late Aronda died of heart attack and the report was laid before parliament, indicating there was massive bleeding in the heart after heart muscles were damaged.
The government is satisfied with the report of the pathologists.
The leader of opposition said that Aronda was a humble man though with military back ground. He emulated him for improving the living conditions on UPDF officers in some military barracks. Wafula also remembered late Aronda  for not being accused of committing crimes against humanity and corruption.
The minister of Defense Dr.Crispus Kiyonga recognized Aronda for fighting terrorism and disarmament of Karamajong warriors. However, Dr. Kiyonga  warned  against  developing   suspicious  statements about the death  of late Aronda without scientific evidence, adding that  there should not be any one using Aronda’s death to incite the public.
The late Aronda’s family was present to hear the condolence motion by the Prime minister, high profiled government officials, foreign dignitaries  and some MPs who were in grief during the tributes.
