Religious leaders under their umbrella body, Inter religious council of Uganda are strongly condemning the violent acts that were exhibited in the NRM party primaries and now urge contestants and voters to always follow the rule of the process and also accept the outcomes of the process.
Reading the statement on behalf of the chairperson, the general over seer of the born again faith, Bish. Joshua Lwere says the council was disappointed to see that contestants and voters threw party cards with others taking on the streets to demonstrate contesting the results.
The faithful now remind voters to stay calm during the electoral process and put at the back of their minds the future of the nation after the whole exercise. However, the council is organizing national prayers to hand over and give thanks to the almighty God for the wonderful nation with the prayers taking place on 3rd October at Kololo.
