Scientists and researchers from Uganda and overseas are highlighting the burden of meningitis that has continued to manifest itself among HIV/AIDS patients with now scientists saying it has continued to kill many HIV patients as most of them notice the disease when its too late.

According to the Infectious disease institute head of research programme at Makerere university, Dr. Andrew Kambugu, they are increasingly registering more cases of HIV positive clients with meningitis with numbers now indicating that over 5000 cases of clients with meningitis are received with 15 cases registered daily at Mulago with the huge numbers registered in the male ward at the facility.
