The  spokesperson and head of media Team NRM campaign Task force 2016 Mike Kennedy Sebalu says that the two  sides are working, looking at the president’s tight schedule for campaigns to harmonize it so as he is having time for the debate he skipped in round one. Sebalu says that people should ignore the earlier media reports that the president termed the presidential debate as a high school debate, saying he could have been misquoted by the media. He asked the other seven presidential candidates standing against president Yoweri Museveni  that they should not over rate themselves against Yoweri Museveni. He also dispels claims that NRM candidate skipped the first round presidential debate for 2016 election because he could not afford to stand for long hours during the debate.

Other presidential candidates expected  included Amama Mbabazi, Forum for Democratic Change presidential flag bearer Kizza Besigye, Professor Venansius Baryamureeba, Rtd. Major General Benon Biraaro, People’s Development Party leader Dr. Abed Bwanika, Independent Candidate Joseph Mabirizi and the only woman presidential candidate Maureen Kyalya.

The last presidential debate held on 16th January 2016  lasted for three hours.
