Officials call for conclusion in negotiations between Uganda and Dubai governments over labour export

Milton Turyasima, Assistant commissioner employment service, from ministry of gender labour and social development, and the Presidential adviser on Ugandans working in the diaspora Florence Kilemerwa are calling for a smooth conclusion to the consultations into the started negotiations between the Uganda and Dubai governments but maintain that no labour company will be allowed to export any service to UAE until a final conclusion is reached on this matter.

In a meeting held between the companies and the government, the officials stated that it will also do thorough scrutiny among the companies that export labour to Dubai since some companies are engaged in human trafficking which has turned Ugandan citizens in Dubai into slaves

Uganda currently has over 600 citizens working in the united Arab emirates remitting over USD.32M to Uganda annually from UAE only.
