Busoga MPs described Kadaga as a non-partisan leader, approachable, and has, in her term of office, contributed to a number developments at parliament.
Rapheal Magyezi said that Kadaga is a person who unites members of parliament. Esther Mbayo, the woman MP elect for Luuka District says their unanimous voice that they have showed will end the speculations that basoga members of parliament are not in support of Kadaga’s bid for speakership in the 10th parliament. The Member of Parliament Luuka county says that even if Kadaga is defeated in the NRM party primaries they will convince other MPs to back her as independent candidate for the speakership bid in the 10th parliament.
The NRM caucus is expected to sit on 5th may to elect the person they will want to support to contest on speakership for the 10th parliament. Both speaker Rebecca Kadaga and her rival Jacob Oulanyah have picked forms expressing interest in the post of speakership.
