The Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Winfred Kiiza, has continued to attack a section of people in Kasese district who are advocating for the split of the district with support from the President.

Kiiza says that the proposed creation of new districts of Bwera, Hima and Kikorongo is selfish and has ill intentions.

This comes as Kasese district local council leadership has rejected the proposal to divide Kasese into other districts.

Kiiza who is also the Woman Member of Parliament for the district says that the proposal is unpopular and has been pushed to boost political profiles of a section of members from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the district.

She says that the split is being fronted basing on tribal sentiments arguing that this will increase inefficient service delivery and generate more conflict in Rwenzori region.
