Premier League: Manchester United,Tottenham register winning starts

Manchester United saw off West Ham United in style with comfortable 4-0 win in their opening game of the Premier League season at Old Traford on 13th, August, 2017.

Romelu Lukaku opened his account by scoring in the 33rd minute of the first half after brilliant link up play with Marcos Rashford.

The Belgian went ahead and doubled the lead for United in the 52nd minute after Mkhitaryan cut in a free kick from the edge of West Ham’s area.

Former Red Devils striker Javier Hernandez had a quite game with the United defence marshaled by Eric Bailly and Phil Jones proving too much for him to crack.

Manchester United dominated the game and were in cruise control when Marcos Rashford was denied a goal after his superb effort from 25 yards struck the inside of the post and the ball went out.

Anthony Martial who was introduced into the game in the 80th minute struck his first goal of the season and Paul Pogba sealed the game by scoring from his curling effort.

David de Gea in the United goal was barely tested in the whole game and Hammers manager Slaven Billick needs a lot of work to do.

More will tell if Manchester United will keep their good start to the season with is a trip to South Wales to the Liberty stadium to face Swansea City.

Tottenham Cruise past Newcastle

Tottenham made a winning start to the new Premier League season as they beat 10-men Newcastle 2-0 at St James’ Park.

Newcastle’s good start to the match was damaged when their captain Jonjo Shelvey was sent off early into the second-half for stamping on Dele Alli.

Alli later went on to score in the 61st minute when he latched onto Christian Eriksen’s diagonal pass into the box.

Moments later, Spurs sealed the win when Ben Davis finished from close range in the 70th minute.
